April Series: Threads and Transitions
April 6 - 30, 2026To return to softness is to return home to you.
Threads & Transitions is an online series devoted to the art of moving through change — in the body, in choreography, and in self. This series explores smooth, controlled transitions, connective pathways, and the subtle threads that weave movements together into something intentional and embodied.
Rather than focusing solely on shapes or tricks, we’ll work with how you move between them. Each workshop is designed to support fluidity, continuity, and conscious choice — helping you develop transitions that feel grounded, expressive, and true to your body.
Through choreography, technique, and guided exploration, we’ll investigate:
• Smooth and controlled transitions
• Threading movements together with clarity and ease
• Creating flow without rushing
• Moving with intention during moments of shift
This series is an invitation to slow down, tune in, and honor the spaces between.

“Learning from Kiana online felt the same as learning from her in person! She gave the same attention to detail and was also able to make corrections live so I could achieve skills safely and with proper technique. Guest instructor appearances really added to the overall experience as I was able to learn so many new things from many different individuals from the comfort of my own home.”

Classes & Workshops
Week 1
Pole Workshop: Re-Imagining The Climb with Kiana
This workshop redefines the climb as more than just a way to get up the pole. Instead of climbing with urgency or a fixed destination in mind, you’ll explore creative pathways, shapes, and transitions while remaining upright and moving through your climb. The focus is on creating interest, variety, and expression within the climb itself. This workshop supports strength, control, and creativity, helping you build climbs that feel intentional, adaptable, and alive rather than rushed or purely functional.
Yoga Class: Threads and Transitions with Kiana
This 30-minute yoga class is designed to support the nervous system during periods of transition. The flow emphasizes smooth, continuous movement between postures, gentle pacing, and breath-led transitions rather than long static holds. This practice encourages release, trust, and ease, offering a way to reconnect with the body. It pairs seamlessly with the pole workshops, supporting recovery, regulation, and integration of the series’ themes. Perfect for rest days, pre-pole preparation, or anytime you need to soften into the unknown. You’re encouraged to re-visit this practice more than once throughout this series.
Guided Meditation: Transitions with Kiana
This guided meditation is designed to support you during periods of transition, or whenever the unknown creates tension, anxiety, or a feeling of being ungrounded. Rather than seeking certainty or answers, this practice invites you to soften your grip — on expectations, timelines, and the need to know what comes next. Through gentle guidance, you’ll be guided to release stress held in the body and reconnect with a sense of internal continuity, even as things shift around you. This meditation focuses on cultivating trust: trust in your intuition, in your timing, and in the subtle threads that carry you forward through change. You’ll explore what it feels like to let go without collapse, to pause without panic, and to move with the natural flow of transition instead of resisting it. Ideal for moments of uncertainty, emotional overwhelm, or before and after movement practice, this meditation offers a grounded way to meet the unknown with softness, steadiness, and self-support.
Week 2
Pole Workshop: Transition Lab – Brass Monkey with Kiana
Brass Monkey is a very diverse trick, yet so many students aren’t sure how to approach it, or where to go from it. This workshop breaks down how to move in and out of Brass Monkey by exploring multiple pathways in and out of it. You’ll work with a small set of tricks and combos, learning different transition options so that you can experiment, explore, and notice which pathways resonate most with you. This workshop is designed to build confidence in your Brass Monkey transitions and to help you feel more resourceful and supported when navigating them.
Pole Workshop: Threads and Transitions Choreo with Kiana
Week 3
Pole Workshop: Slow Spin Flow with Kiana
This slow spin flow workshop invites you to move at a pace that allows sensation, breath, and awareness to lead. Using spin pole, you’ll explore trick-based movement through sustained holds, gentle motion, and unhurried transitions. You may work with both upright holds and inverts, with an emphasis on staying connected throughout each transition rather than rushing toward the next shape. Movements are approached as evolving pathways — allowing shapes to melt, soften, and mold into one another as you move from one point to the next. This workshop also supports endurance, stamina, and confidence in slow movement.
Embodiment Workshop: The Threaded In-Between: Softening Into Transition with Nix
Transitions are not gaps.
They are active spaces of integration.
In this 60-minute embodied workshop, we explore how the way we move between shapes mirrors how we move between identities, seasons, and uncertainty in our lives.
When change arises, the nervous system searches for certainty. If it doesn’t find it, we either rush forward or collapse inward. This workshop invites you into a different pathway, grounded surrender. The kind of trust that allows movement without urgency and softness without losing strength.
Through guided breathwork, gentle threading movements, and somatic awareness, we will:
• Explore the difference between urgency and readiness
• Notice how the body responds to uncertainty
• Practice slowing transitions without losing momentum
• Cultivate safety in motion
We’ll close with a simple Thread & Anchor ritual: a tangible practice to honor what you are leaving, what you are in, and what you are becoming.
This is not about perfect shapes or performance.
It’s about learning to trust the in-between.
You’ll leave with a deeper sense of internal continuity, nervous system steadiness, and a ritual you can return to whenever life feels like it’s shifting beneath you.
Week 4
Pole Workshop: It’s All In The Details with Kiana
This choreography-based workshop focuses on the subtle details and technical nuances that make movement feel more flowy, embodied, and connected. You’ll explore a heels-based choreography that emphasizes movement quality, technique, and presence, offering tools you can apply to any choreography or flow to create smoother, more connected transitions.
+ a Self-Practice Ritual for you to move through on your own.
